Maglev Air Compressors Boost Sewage Plant Efficiency

Against the backdrop of the “dual carbon” goals and the growing requirements for improving water quality and enhancing efficiency in sewage treatment, the energy-saving renovation of aeration systems in municipal sewage treatment plants has become a key issue in the environmental engineering field.

 A municipal sewage treatment plant with a daily treatment capacity of 150,000 tons (serving approximately 500,000 residents) has long relied on traditional Roots blowers for the aeration process in sludge treatment, facing problems such as high energy consumption, high operation and maintenance costs, and insufficient equipment reliability. It is in urgent need of technological upgrading to achieve green and efficient operation.

Challenges with Traditional Blowers

Maglev Solution

We replaced the blowers with 3 custom maglev air compressors, addressing key pain points:

– 97%+ motor efficiency (maglev bearings + VFD), ±0.02MPa constant pressure control;

– 316L stainless steel + anti-corrosion coating (15+ year lifespan), oil-free design;

– Remote monitoring, annual maintenance only.
